Fashion and Face Masks!
ROSSLYN NORTH SUPPLIES
It’s Fashion Week in Paris and Milan this month. But, it's the Year of the Face Mask.
As a visible, wearable accessory, it's doubtful that the fashion world has ever seen such rapid growth in sales of any other item.
A new trend has been coined - the ‘Trikini’ - the wearing of a bikini with a face mask! Not the look we always dream of for the beach - but very necessary for this year.
Many of our favourite stylish brands have jumped on the band(ana)wagon. But are they actually any good?
Wear a well fitted face mask
It’s important to distinguish between a fashion accessory and a piece of Personal Protective Equipment that will keep you safe against the coronavirus.
The most important aspect to look for is the fit around your face.
While many of our favourite designers are now churning out face coverings in their iconic prints, they are not necessarily any more use than any other piece of fabric (but probably cost a lot more).
It looks like we’re going to be wearing cloth face masks for a while, which is all the more reason to find one that works properly to keep you safe.
The most important protective aspect of a face mask or covering is the fit around your face. ‘Fashion-led’ face masks may be attractive, but they have not necessarily been designed for a perfect fit.
The pandemic, and its effects, are going to be with us for some time. While many of us are desperate to get back to some kind of normal, the risk is not yet over.
To keep yourself and your loved ones safe, ensure that you are wearing a face mask designed for protection at all times when social distancing is not possible.
